Volunteers, Interns, and Work-Studies
We need help from volunteers, interns, and work-studies to keep our shelter, Pear Blossom Place, open 24 hours a day. We schedule at least 2 people to work each shift. Staff are on-call in case of an emergency.

We also need help maintaining the donation room at our downtown office. Volunteers may access this room to unpack, sort, and distribute goods whenever the Family Support Center is open (and on weekends, if arranged).

Lastly, we look for help running special events that support families and children. When possible, we coordinate group meals, birthday parties, and educational activities at shelter.
How to Get Started
- Complete the application.
- We review the application and get back to you in 48 hours.
- We run background checks.
- Schedule an orientation.
- Come for a training shift at Pear Blossom Place.
- We pair you with someone who has experience.
- We give you login information for self-scheduling.
